Sheela and Mark Hunt are a husband and wife Real Estate team, representing clients in Montecito and Santa Barbara, while also working with agents from other cities to help achieve clients’ goals in the area.
In addition to being a Real Estate Agent, Sheela Hunt has experience in various Real Estate-related industries since 1990. She has served as a Property Appraiser, Mortgage Consultant and a Personal Banker for high wealth clients. During that time, Sheela received numerous recognition awards for achieving pride in customer excellence and consistently exceeding her sales goals.
When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying time with her family and friends, spending time at the beach and involving herself with her child’s school and fundraising for various nonprofit organizations such as Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, Dream Foundation, and Village Properties Teacher’s Fund.
Born in Hong Kong to parents from Bombay, India, Sheela’s family was familiar with life in many countries. “We moved and traveled a lot! During this time I had the opportunity to see the world before I was 12. Those experiences likely sparked my interest in people and where they lived”, says Sheela.
When Sheela married Mark, she married into a family embedded in the Santa Barbara real estate market. Bill and Elsie Hunt, Mark’s grandparents, were a real estate team in Santa Barbara from the mid 1960′s to the late 1980′s.
Mark’s background includes 15 years of directing, producing and managing productions in Hollywood, working mostly in youth oriented television programming and feature film visual effects. Once Sheela and Mark moved to Montecito in 2002, Mark switched his focus to Real Estate and worked behind the scenes with Sheela on her $100,000,000 in transactions. Then in 2011, Mark started the website www.montecitobestbuys.com as a tool for promoting what he thought were the best values in the area each week. His picks for best buys often dominate the pending and sales columns and this has led to Mark and Sheela joining forces to promote their business and help clients find the best buys and set appropriate list prices to help sellers find buyers and achieve top dollar for their homes.
Mark’s main talent in Real Estate is in finding and promoting the value in each home, based on over a dozen factors he considers when evaluating a property. It is this evaluation process, when comparing one home to another that sets Mark apart. Additionally, Mark is very enthusiastic about art, landscaping, location and architecture, all important aspects of the business of Real Estate.
Mark currently writes a bi-weekly article on Montecito’s Best Buys for the Montecito Journal and splits his time between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, promoting the properties he feels are best buys.
